Vintage ceramic vase is an excellent specimen of traditional Greek pottery with a twist. This vase was made inThessaloniki, in the early eighties by Dimitris Argiroudis and his workshop.
His trademark stamp, lca, can be seen at the bottom of the vase at the bottom, near the base rim.
This vintage ceramic vase was made of stoneware clay.It is shaped like a ball with a very thin and small rim.It is then gently beaten on the sides, on its perfect, round belly, until it takes a triangular and conical form.
Its basic colour is cream/beige.It is glazed with a creamy glaze, but it is then painted on the glaze with many, different oxides. These produce stripes of dark blue, olive green, strong brown and ochre yellow, that mingle or succeed one another. There is a final, thick glazed line of white, that forms a beautiful, white line from the under the rim till halfway the middle of the belly.A little before it stops, it is decorated with some lovely, white dots.
This vintage vase measures about 12 cm in height x 12 cm in diameter (4.72'' x 4.72'').It is of medium weight. It is in excellent, unused condition.
The lisitng is for the ceramic vase only.
