Vintage metal dish is an oval, ornate dish in gold and silver colour, a serveware piece, made in the seventies in Greece.It was used to serve sweets, chocolates, candy, etc, usually wrapped in tinfoil or cellophane.It was also very often used for decoration, even when empty.Our mums and grannies all had one such dish in their livingrooms.
This serving candy, oval bowl is silver and gold plated.It has a deepened middle part of about 8-9 cm in length.This part is silver plated.
The rest has an undulating shape, especially at its rim.Starting from the rim, there are triangles of ornate flower decor, carved on the metal surface and hammered all around.These are also silver in colour.The rest of the dish is in gold.Its bottom is also silver plated.
This dish stands on three beautiful small roung legs.
It has some minor smudges and dark spots, but other than that, it is in very good functioning condition and looks.It measures about 25cm in length x 20cm in width x 5cm in heiight.It is quite light.
If you keep the sufrace away from water and chemicals, it will last a very long time. If you must wash it, wipe immediately with a clean, soft, cotton cloth.
