Buttons necklace is a mother pearl, vintage necklace, made with lots of
black cord.It's a mother pearl, beaded necklace, a statement, boho hippie jewelry piece, with vintage mother pearl butons.The buttons have a pearly, brown pinkish side and a back side that looks like wood, or nut.I can't be sure.
A vintage, mother pearl necklace, made in the late eighties in Asia.
It consists of one strand of many black, or very dark brown cords tied together and upon those cords the buttons have been tied in a haphazard manner of twos and threes with the ends of the cords showing, like tassels, for a hippier, more boho effect.
The buttons are mostly two sizes, one size a little smaller than the next.The larger button has a diameter of about 2.5cm (0.98'').
The back side of these, lovely, mother pearl buttons looks like wood, or nut.Some buttons have darker back sides than others.SAs you are wearing the necklace, some buttons will be on the pearly side and some will be showing their nutty, back side.There is a knot of the cords at both ends of the necklace and then the clasp which is made with a hoop from the cord and a button.You clasp the cord hoop on to the button.
